SignofSound is a multi-sensorial and multidisciplinary art project involving music, painting, video art, and dance conceptualized by Fabiana Yvonne Lugli – a trained ballet and contemporary dancer who performs as a painter and a paint performer. The SignofSound performance is based on improvisation between different media. The painters/dancers react to the experimental sound and music on a color-saturated backlit wall canvas. SignofSound is an art performance methodology that explores a uniquely moving meditation as part of a healing and sensory journey. This methodology has been taught for more than a decade at the “Accademia delle Belle Arti” & “Accademia Nazionale di Danza” in Rome, Italy under the patronage of Professor Paolo Ferruzzi, and Directors Margherita Parrilla and Gerardo Lo Russo. Over the years SignofSound has been performed since the early 2000s in Italy and New York City and has included a cast of many internationally known musicians, dancers, and visual artists.
